Buy it, worth the money

If you have struggled with the nuances of the COT report, you will treasure this book. It clearly illustrates the crux of the matter which is price action and the reasons behind it. I would not recommend this for beginners, however. There is a subtlety in evaluating trend shifts and unless you have actually gotten your hands dirty digging into FX and traded for awhile could you appreciate the clarity of Steve Briese's explanations. I have been an active Forex trader for over 5 years and this book I consider to be one of my most valuable on the subject. Forex is not a get rich quick vehicle. There is a steep learning curve as most FX traders will honestly tell you--but this market can be most rewarding for those who spend the time and effort to learn.

Good book

This is a decent book on the committment of traders data (and the only I've read). It provides an overview and the author has dealt with the data for over 20 years so he knows the inns and outs of it. The author has a website, but he doesn't try to hardsell his own newsletter in the book. That is good.

There isn't much information in the book to tell you if the committment data is valualbe in the first place. There are some academic studies (not referenced) that show quite poor results, but there is a problem with academic studies. Only those showing efficient markets tends to get published. If somebody finds a holy-grail he will not publish it. So it is up to you to find out if the committment data can be useful. This book tells you what the data is and how it can be analysed. So don't expect a comprehensive trading system.

I would have loved the author to be more familiar with statistics. He presents a lot of correlation tables and I don't consider them useful. It smells like data mining to me. Still those tables are not at all relevant for the key themes of the book. So not really a problem.

I have written several short reviews on trading books. The best way is to compare the score on the books I've read. Many reviews on amazon.com are just glorious 5 star reviews. I use all five categories; sorry but everything isn't "great". Books rated 5 are very good. Books rated 4 are good solid books well worth reading. Books rated 3 can be bought by some people who read a lot or have very specific needs. Books rated 1 or 2 I would not recommend buying or reading. Naturally all in my humble opinion.

Michael abandoned his career as a composer and went to India, the home of his maternal grandmother, where he lived for seven years fully focused on his spiritual awakening.

Michael’s spiritual teachings reveal techniques of yoga and meditation that can open the door to one’s higher nature and to directly experience the after-death state. Nada yoga (meditation on the inner sound) is one of the core techniques for this realization. There is a vast luminous consciousness already within us, but it is obscured by the clouds of our incessant thoughts. This is one of the most inspiring books I have read in years.
All this book aims to one thing, enlightenment, a direct knowledge of the Absolute which, undoubtedly the author has known himself. In a very clear and precise langage, he transmits different means, and for some completely new (Nada-Yoga), always encouraging the seeker in his endeavors. And with his guidance, one can feel that it is possible to know, through a direct personal experience, this supreme achievement.

Very poor scan of the book

Ralph Schroeder's work is excellent, and the book itself deserves 5 stars. The problem, however, is that the publisher has simply uploaded the pdf of the book to the Kindle store, meaning that without enlarging each page, reading it, then shrinking it again to allow it to turn the page, the book is basically unreadable. A very poor showing from Oxford. For the price, this should be a Kindle friendly book. As it is, you'd be much better off borrowing it from the library.

WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOSE?

Reading this book may literally save your life...that is if you are willing to take the time to not only read the book, but do the exercises! No guarantees, but what do you have to lose? Guaranteed you will learn something about yourself in the process. Louise believes that our beliefs and attitudes about life are the seedbed for health or illness. While I do not believe her theory totally, I do believe she has much to teach us about how we can heal our lives physically and emotionally. I have found Louise's breakdown of illnesses and mental causation in her book, YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE, to be "right on" in the majority of illness included. As a mental health counselor, I often recommend her book to my clients. For people who have major illnesses or are facing surgery reading and doing the exercises in LOVE YOURSELF, YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE WORKBOOK gives you an opportunity to do something that could make a difference in your recovery. As you live from day to day, waiting for tests, going through procedures, and wondering "What's next?", you can empower yourself by learning more about who you are and how you might be contributing to your illness. Louise put her belief system to the test when she manifested a tumor which doctors recommended be surgically removed. She believed that if she had the tumor cut out without understanding what part she played in it, that her body would continue to create another tumor. She refused to have surgery and started counseling in dealing with her issues related to her tumor. Six months later, there was no tumor to be found! Also, she did no other form of treatment other than her counseling. Her personal testimony has been one of the major contibuting factors in my being an advocate of her work. We are fortunate to have such a gifted healer to teach us how we can contribute to our own healing process. I have found her work to be of great benefit to my own personal healing, as well; and would highly recommend anyone taking the time to participate in the healing opportunities provided in her workbook.
