...beautiful und very sexy & funny & suspensy Romance! Great Series!!!

We all remember Denver & Cherry from the first books in the series.
Denver is one of the fighters in Cannon Colter's gym in Warfield, Ohio. Denver recently signed with SBC, the big fighting association, but is still living and training in Warfield. Cherry is the roommate of Colton's sister Merissa.
Both Denver & Cherry have been totally attracted to each other ever since they first met....but Denver never tried anything because he thought Cherry was too much of a partygirl and a flirt... she talked and flirted to all the guys at the gym.
But she's not interested in any of the guys - she's totally in love with Denver.
And when they both meet at a bar in a town two hours from home, after one of Armie's fights, they finally both give in to the attraction.
They spend an amazing night together....and it could've been an amazing morning too, but two things happen....
First, Cherry must've caught the bug that's been going around lately; fever and all....but Denver, and Armie too, take care of her and bring her medicine etc.
And then there's the problem with her 'Family'. Three dangerous looking guys have been asking about her. But she's scared and doesn't want anything to do with them. But there's still more that she's not telling Denver...
And of course we also hear a lot about Armie and how ex-fighter Havoc tries to get him to sign with the SBC....but for whatever reason, Armie doesn't want to.... plus he's still totally in love with Cannon's sister and then there's the other fighter Stack, who's had a crush on Vanity ever since she came to town - we'll get to hear their story soon!!!!!!

SUCH A GREAT BOOK!!!!!
When you've read the prequel to this new series: HARD KNOCKS, and then Cannon's story NO LIMITS, you already know all about the fighters and their possible future girls.
Now we finally get to hear Denver & Cherry's story.
And what a HOT story it was.
Unlike many romance novels this one already starts really sexy.
They meet at the bar and end up in bed...phew!!!!!
And Denver is such a hot guy - and a nice guy - and a smart guy ..... grrrrrr
I really loved the story. There was so much sexiness in it and the suspensy parts with those three bad guys and all the funny moments with Armie and the guys. ...
I loved how it wasn't this horribly long story before they finally get together - this is a book where they almost get together in the first chapters....Yeah, there are lots of problems to overcome with both their families, but I really enjoyed reading that all.
Something I especially enjoy about this series...this FIGHTER series...is, that it's not really about the fighting - we barely see any professional fighting or any kind of fights, other than with the bad guys in the suspensy parts of the books ☺ I'm not such a huge fan of the whole MMA or boxing or wrestling thing ☺
PLUS - we get a tiny little Cannon Bonus Scene at the end ☺☺☺
HOLDING STRONG - was an amazingly beautiful & verrrry sexy & suspensy Romance!
You'll love it!!!!!
I WOULD SOOO LOVE IT if someone would make a TV-series out of the Ultimate Series - just so we could stare and fangirl at Cannon & Denver & Stack & Armie etc. all day long!!!! Oooh and don't forget Rowdy and his buddies from the previous series and Havoc and colleagues from Lori's older fighter series - they're around in Holding Strong too ☺☺
Now I can't wait for the other books in this series!!!

My Thoughts
We RETURN TO THE world of the Ultimate series , a world that is both intense and also low key as the fighters must be aware at all times that their training makes them both a weapon as well as a target for ego driven muscle heads so keeping their cool makes all the difference in certain situations.
Denver Lewis has recently joined the SBC, the organization that has the potential to take him all the way to the top spot in the MMA if he can keep on target with his training and his anger in CHECK when it comes to Cherry Peyton.
Cherry is in her early twenties, she is a bubbly curvy and all around gorgeous young woman who caught Denver’s attention upon their very first meeting. Too bad for him that she does not seem to be able to curb her flirtatious manner as Denver is not willing to get involved with someone who revels in the attention of MULTIPLE admirers as he wants to be the only one his woman needs on her mind.
Once again we find two people whose mixed signals have kept them apart when they could have found happiness together sooner, also the second that Cherry finds herself threatened is a major stumbling block because she prefers to work out her problems alone rather than involving Denver and his friends.
The way in which this story unfolds is one that will have it’s readers totally on Denver’s side for the most part, he is very sweet, very gentle, very caring, very protective and even when overbearing in his take charge attitude never comes across as a bully so naturally you want Cherry to listen to him.
Cherry has had a childhood that would never wish on anyone, the past experiences that she lived through were a nightmare and the situation that she finds herself in now is one that is both scary as well as very seriously dangerous if not handled correctly.
As we learn more about both Cherry and Denver it becomes very apparent that this couple has issues to work through both together and alone but the hope is that in doing so they will form a lasting strong relationship that will last. Whether that happens or not one must give them both CREDIT for being as open to trying as well as strong enough to take a chance given their past histories.
Reading this was like being part of a reunion with ALL THE CHARACTERS, loved seeing how everyone rallied as needed and the off-the-charts heat between Cherry and Denver was scrumptious.
Looks like ONE BY ONE our MMA fighters are finding that special someone as well as their careers are revving up and life is on track.

Five Smoldering, Sexy but Sensitive Stars!

What's better than being roommates with Cannon Colter's sister, Merissa? Maybe being friends with all the hot, uber alpha males at the rec center because of it. Wait... no, it's those protective males banding together when trouble comes looking for Cherry - and Denver is leading the pack! Denver is, without a doubt, a total Alpha male. There's kind of a role-reversal here at the beginning... Cherry's the life of the party and Denver does not want a casual one-nighter with her, he wants her for the long-term. That's incredible hot.
He growled, "Don't fool yourself, girl. I could never ignore you, no matter how hard I tried." He lightly bit her shoulder, then smoothed the spot with his hot tongue. "Anytime you were around, I knew it. I *felt* it. Clear down to my bones."
I love Denver and Cherry's characters, individually and as a couple. The standard fair of secondary characters (all the rec fighters, plus a few cameo cross-overs from Love Undercover and SBC) made an appearance. Dialogue and interaction was natural, realistic and believable. The plot is full and dynamic. My only complaint is that it was a little TOO full. Pamela... ugh! There were undercurrents for Armie and Rissy, leading me to believe they'll be getting their book sooner than expected. Stack and Vanity obviously are next in the line up. There were a few spots that I worried that they were trying to take over the book. Ms. Foster managed to rein them in, but just barely. The flow of the book is exactly what you'd expect of Ms. Foster. This one did, however, feel more emotionally focused than suspense and action seeded. I'm okay with that, but there may be some out there that anticipated more action than was given. There are plenty of conflicts, but calm and controlled Denver always manages to resolve them in a quick and efficient manner (while apologizing profusely when he's being a bonehead). Predictability was very low. The climax of the story is fast-paced and exciting, leading into a conclusion which is solid. There's even a Cannon Colter Bonus scene further hinting at what's to come. This was a truly enjoyable read and I look forward to TOUGH LOVE, due out August 2015.
